Check out the amazing new Sprint GT 1050. Five years after the introduction of the popular 1050cc Sprint ST sports tourer comes this new model. Greater practicality and more emphasis on the 'touring' aspect of 'sports touring. It offers a unique proposition of performance and practicality. October 20, 2008- HELLO ALL!
Just received a radio phonecall from Brad who was sitting on some sand dune in the Tunisian desert. He said internet is not working so they cannot send reports but he is having an awesome time. Not too tired, eating well and just having the experience of a life time. Tents are not desert sand proof and the very fine sand is permeating everything while they sleep. Bikes are working well but HP/weight may be a bit light for this type of adventure...always needs more HP!!!!
Apparently the USA team is the best performing, fastest and handling the course better than the other nations, some of whom are really battling. He says Jimmie Lewis is just awesome and has made a real desert sand rider out of him. Other than that all is well.
Regards,
Michael C Hendry
October 22, 2008- Dear BMW GS Fans,
We have the latest news from Tunisia where the unofficial results of the International GS Trophy have been called in by one of our contestants Jim Stoddard to his wife Lisa just a couple of hours ago.
The competition is over. Team USA had all six riders still riding.
Early this morning was the first team challenge which was in the Great Salt Flats the course was silky salt flats. All the teams did very well. After that they rode about another 100km to a Star Wars movie set for some site seeing. Then on to the next challenge. Tunisia Momument Valley only 20 to 30 feet tall . The teams had to choose the first three bikes and rider to ride the course. Then have a rider change for the next three bikes and riders for the second lap and then had to finish with all six riders handlebar to handlebar. Team USA smoked the competitionJ Now that the competion is over the teams have all been celebrating with each other. Tomorrow they will ride back to the ferry were the awards ceromey will be held.
We will have "official" confirmation tomorrow, when we will pass on permission for the champagne to be uncorked... congratulations to our U.S. press participants Jonathan Beck, Ryan Dubek, and Jimmy Lewis. BIG Congrats to the
three BMW owners/riders, Jason Adams, Jim Stoddard and to our local hero- Brad Hendry.
Thanks to all participants and cheerleaders for making this a successful venture - unquestionably the other countries will be putting on the pressure next year! And BMW will have an expanded testing process for the next three owner/riders choosen next year to represent the U.S.A.
